We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and try to ensure our furniture is not made from any endangered species. Pine is a fantastic renewable source due to the speed at which it grows. Most of our Pine is kiln-dried Scandinavian redwood which comes from FSC and PEFC managed forests where for every tree cut down, three more are planted. All our Oak comes from Sustainable Hardwood Forests.
Whenever possible we always try to source ranges from Great Britain which is why all of our Pine, Painted Pine and Mattresses are all designed and made in England. Making use of local knowledge and innovation, local workers/labour and cutting down on transport costs.
Willoby’s and Wildlife
This photograph is of our 10 acre woodland on our farm near Ashton Keynes. This wood was planted by us some 15 years ago and is now a haven for wildlife. Wiltshire Wildlife have recently done some wonderful work on the woodland and also laid hedges to create more wildlife habitat. We are especially proud of our Barn Owls which are successfully breeding every year, and we mustn’t forget our Great Crested Newts happily swimming around in one of our restored ponds.
Don’t Discard, Donate!
Many of our customers ask us what they can do with their old furniture. We always suggest they contact our local Swindon charity the Prospect Hospice. They have a furniture collection service for items they can sell in their shop.
